Under this name, an old workshop that was previously part of the Serrería Fernández facilities, becomes the headquarters of ZAWP in 2011.
In addition to the offices of Haceria Arteak it serves as a shared workspace for creators who do not need large space to start their projects.

At the beginning of 2019 this space sees how the adjoining buildings are demolished. At the end of the same year the building disappears and Haceria Arteak association moves to its new facilities in Zorrotzaurre. <! - more ->

Haceria Arteak was born in 1998 founded by a group of students of the now disappeared school of Performing Arts, Dance and Music Juan Antxieta. After creating the association Haceria Arteak they transform a place that was part of the Serrería Fernández sawmill to create a meeting space for groups, interpretation schools, students of Fine Arts and academies and artists of all kinds.
Film and television shootings, radio programs, events, dance and theater shows and endless concerts take place in this space.
It is one of the first cultural spaces born in La Ribera de Deusto through the reconversion of a space with an industrial past.

At the end of 2019, and due to the development of the urban plan, the building that houses Haceria disappears.

ZAWPLAB is a place for creation born to give a second life to a part of the old Sawmill Fernández after its reparzelation.

Since 2011 it hosts creators sharing space. ZAWPLab is conceived not only as a workplace, but also as a place to live where artists and creators in residence coexist with entrepreneur who initiate their projects.
This space sees numerous initiatives born and grow until 2019, when with the advance of the Urban Plan and the transfer of Haceria Arteak Association to its new facilities, it is again empty for a new use.

Since its recovery as a multidisciplinary space in 2011, Garabia hosts diverse activities from numerous creators and artists. During this period, Garabia is a place to promote and increase the possibility of exhibiting cultural actions, which, in addition to welcoming the audience, serves as a space for artists to create during their residency at ZAWP.

In the end of 2019, and with the progress of the urban plan and the transfer of Haceria Arteak Association, Garabia becomes part of Pabellón 6.

In the 40s the grandfather of a generation that is still living in La Ribera de Deusto founded a small carpentry workshop with his 3 children and some workers. Years later, he establishes the first sawmill at number 47 of the Ribera de Deusto.
For years the company imports wood from Guinea and other countries to cut it and generate different products. Hardwood is cut to make planks and softwood is used to make plywood. Later this is used both to make furniture and barrels as for ship partitions.

After the plywood, the import of wood goes down, so the sawmill begins to work the chipboard, which is created by compacting sawdust.

Over time, new products appear in the market, so the demand for wood declines and the sawmill is forced to produce many products in order to continue competing with foreign companies. Production declines and the sawmill closes around 93.

After the closure of the company, the large space occupied by the Sawmill is divided, giving rise to several smaller pavilions that are rented to mechanical workshops, carpentry, or blacksmiths among others.

As of 2010, some of these buildings become places for culture and creativity thanks to ZAWP project.
Some of these buildings disappear in 2019 due to the progress of the urban plan.
